Meredith Stewart
OF COUNSEL
I work with clients, particularly those in the life sciences, to assert and defend their intellectual property in U.S. federal courts and at the U.S. Patent Office. While I have gone to several bench and jury trials, I also have experience in all phases of litigation, including expert discovery and reports, claim construction strategy and briefing, dispositive motions, post-trial briefing, and appeals to the Federal Circuit.
I love intellectual property litigation because, at my core, I am a science nerd and a writer. I use these attributes in a patent case to craft arguments that are not only legally and technically sound, but also compelling and understandable even to an unfamiliar audience.
ANALYTICAL • PRAGMATIC
Prior to McCurdy Laud, I interned at the North Carolina Supreme Court during law school. After graduation, I clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. I subsequently practiced as an associate at Jones Day for four years.
When I am not thinking or writing about patents, you can find me outside at the beach, in the garden, or toting my two young kids around town on our well-loved electric bike.
